Trade shows booming after 3-year “crisis"

Global trade show organiser Messe Frankfurt is on track for an estimated €600 million ($A902m) in sales revenue for 2023 and says the trade event business is “firing on all cylinders again.” 

Epson Q1 revenue up as profit falls

Epson reported revenue for the first quarter was ¥314.8 billion ($A3.35 billion), an increase of 5.7% year-on-year, while overall business profits were down 31% year-on-year. "Revenue in the commercial and industrial printing business sharply increased."

Canon reports Q2 sales & income increases

Canon’s second quarter net income increased by 10.8% year-on-year to ¥65.4 billion ($A700 million), as net sales increased by 2.2% to ¥1,020.9 billion ($A10.8bn). Printing Business Unit sales were up by 0.8% compared with the same period of the previous year.

‘Resilient demand’: Xerox posts $1.7bn in Q2 revenue

Print giant Xerox recorded revenue of $US1.75 billion in second quarter 2023, up 0.4 percent year over year, with profit up 205% to $US107 million. “In the second quarter 2023, resilient demand and balanced execution drove another quarter of growth in revenue, profits and cash flow,” Xerox said. 

Avery Dennison 2Q sales down 10% to $US2.1 billion

Avery Dennison Corporation said second quarter 2023 net sales were $2.1 billion, with organic sales change (non-GAAP) down 10%. “The pace of our recovery is slower than anticipated.”

Beware Artificial Intelligence pitfalls - a cautionary tale to let Real Intelligence prevail
