Fujifilm acquires European inkjet system integrator Unigraphica

Fujifilm has signed an agreement to acquire Unigraphica AG (head office in Ruggell, Principality of Liechtenstein), a system integrator that specialises in providing customized inkjet printing systems. The company will be renamed Fujifilm Unigraphica AG from July 1st.

Summa buys flatbed cutter competitor Valiani

Cutting equipment manufacturer Summa has acquired Italy-based Valiani - a developer and manufacturer of small to medium sized flatbed cutters and framing matt cutters - to strengthen its position as “a leading manufacturer in print finishing equipment.”

HP and Currie Group reveal PacPrint highlights

EFI buys Spanish software developer Inèdit

Electronics For Imaging has acquired Inèdit Software, a developer of raster image processors (RIPs) and related software for digital industrial textile printing. Inèdit will be integrated into the EFI’s Reggiani textile business. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bangladesh depot fire made worse due to mislabelled chemicals

Many labels for chemical drum containers are printed on wide format digital printers, due to their oversize capabilities and shorter runs. At Chittagong, Bangladesh 3 days ago, mislabeled Hydrogen Peroxide was doused with water when a container depot caught fire. This caused a further explosion and loss of life - foam should have been used, but firefighters, nine of whom are still missing, were misled by the labels (from BBC/AFP report)

HP and Canva shut down Russian operations over Ukraine war
