OOH revenue (now 62% digital) jumps almost 20% in H1

The Australian Out of Home (OOH) industry reported half year 2022 net media revenue of $478.6 million, up 19.5% from $400.4 million for the same period in 2021.

Ecoloop recycles 309 tonnes of cladding & signage ACM waste

$1.6m Lithgow, NSW recycling facility Ecoloop - owned by façade cladding & signage specialist Fairview - diverted 309 tonnes of cladding rectification waste away from landfill projects in NSW, VIC and the ACT in its first full year of operation. “The programme is only beginning,” said Fairview’s Melissa Herrmann.  

‘Turbulent times’: Agfa posts Q2 net loss of €13m

Belgian-German printer manufacturer Agfa-Gevaert was “strongly impacted by cost inflation and supply chain issues” in Q2 2022 but reported continued revenue growth in its sign & display business. “The top line of the wide-format printing equipment business continued to recover from the strong COVID-19 impact.” Agfa's integration of the newly-acquired Inca Onset printers is progressing, with Agfa's own inks now certified for Inca.

Fuji Xerox vs EY, Whittaker & ors hearing brought forward by Federal Court

The Federal Court of Australia case management hearing in the Fuji Xerox 'accounting scandal' case, scheduled for 21st Sptember, has been brought forward to Wednesday 1st September in the WA branch of the Court. This tends to indicate that the settlement reached in the New Zealand jurisdiction, may be featured in the accelerated case management hearing. The NZ Serious Fraud Office investigation is still ongoing.

ASGA's Victorian golf day & Espy catch-up

IVE Group FY22 revenue up 15.6% to $759m

The region’s largest print business IVE Group posted full-year 2022 revenue of $759 million, with earnings before tax up 13% pcp to $96m and net profit after tax up 66% to $33m.

Integrate Expo shows how Audio-Visual and print Signage can work together

Peacock's 75k unique beer can labels for expanding Little Bang

New Zealand sources say that the long-running legal case between Fuji Xerox NZ and EY (Ernst & Young), Neil Whittaker and two other former FXNZ executives, has been settled without going to trial. It is not yet known if this will influence the Australian Federal Court case, due to be heard on September 21st. The NZ Serious Fraud Office investigation in on-going.

oOh!media first-half earnings jump 62% to $51 million

Outdoor advertiser oOh!media reported total revenue up 10% to $276 million for the half year ended 30 June 2022, with earnings increasing by 62% (pcp) to $51.5 million.

City of Sydney considers a ban on fossil fuel advertising

Outdoor advertising that promotes coal, oil and gas could soon be banned from hundreds of Sydney buildings and public spaces if the City of Sydney council vote on Monday night, 22nd August, moves to restrict all fossil fuel ads. The vote comes days after QMS officially launched its new City of Sydney street furniture network. The outcome is not yet known. (they voted yes - ed)
