Most Sign & Display printers are aware of the 'lateral' markets available to them, thanks to many having screen or pad printing backgrounds. Tee-shirts, baseball caps and coffee mugs are the most visible opportunity, branded using either DTG, heat transfer or dye-sub. The same applies for flags, bunting and banners, all of which can be produced in short runs, on-demand. The Australian Promotional Products Association is gearing up for a blockbuster 2023, with 5 Roadshows and 2 trade shows.

APPA logoThere's a whole lot more than Tee shirts and baseball caps to the promotional products sector, with companies such as Mutoh, Mimaki and Roland DG offering benchtop UV printers with inks that can be applied to almost any object and durably cured. Phone covers, mouse mats, conference folders, pens, keyrings, golf balls, water bottles - the list of objects is limited only by the imagination, with demand increasing.

Starting in March, the APPA is set to engage in a very busy schedule of roadshows and trade shows during 2023, following the successful re-start of events in 2022 folowing pandemic restrictions. The flagship event are the Promo Show 2023 at Sydney's Olympic Park from August 16th to 17th, followed two days later by the NZ Promo Show at Alexandra Park, Auckland.

APPA trade shows are a thriving tradition in the promotional products industry, and give distributors and suppliers a rare occasion to converge and conduct business in a face-to-face capacity. They are B2B events targeting the distributors and suppliers of products and services that feed into the promotional products market.
