Resolution Imaging Pty Ltd in the Melbourne industrial suburb of Nunawading, is the first Australian site for a six-colour Screen Truepress Jet 1632UV flatbed UV printer.

Director of Resolution Imaging Darren Watkins was attracted to the 1632UV due to its high productivity of up to 94 square metres per hour, while retaining excellent detail and colour fidelity for close-viewed advertising displays. He was familiar Screen’s engineering quality and service support from

previous experience with Screen scanners and film imagesetters, before establishing Resolution in 1996.

Southern Region Sales Manager, Keith Atherton, a veteran of over 26 years with Screen Australia says: “Resolution Imaging is a very fast-paced sign and display shop offering both flatbed UV and solvent roll output. Productivity is vitally important as they can receive orders for hundreds of advertising displays at short notice and must turn them around quickly. We could not wish for a better first site to show that Screen and its group subsidiary Inca can really make a difference when it comes to high-productivity, photographic quality flatbed UV.”

Screen collaborated with its wholly-owned group company Inca of Cambridge, UK in the development of both the Truepress Jet 1632UV and new Truepress Jet W3200UV which adds the option for white in addition to the six-colour inkset and prints in landscape format.

The main substrates used by Resolution are XBoard, ReBoard and Corflute. Foamboards such as Kapa, Gator and ForeX are also printed. These are recyclable materials that can be cut and formed into a wide variety of POP and other displays. The company offers everything from creative design to printing, die-cutting, laminating and finishing.

The installation took place during January and since completion in early February, the 1632UV at Resolution Imaging has been kept very busy indeed.

Screen Australia Managing Director, Peter Scott, comments: “The flatbed UV market in Australia is very competitive, with all manufacturers represented in a country of relatively small population, separated by great distances. It is therefore a real pleasure to have success with the 1632UV to add to a 2500UV installed in Perth, Western Australia. We now look forward to more enquiries on the new W3200UV released in November, for which we anticipate great success due to its advanced features.”
