Two new wide format media products under the Helix brand have been launched by Starleaton Digital Solutions. Helix Solvoprint No Light 210 features a superior silver-backing to prevent light from showing through printed images. This is a big improvement on gray-backed products, which can still allow light to show through from behind, making colourful graphic images look misty and washed-out.
“Our new Helix No Light 210 performs brilliantly using Latex, Eco-Solvent, Solvent and UV Cure processes,” says Starleaton Director Gary Smith. “Roll-Up, Pop-Up, Banner and other portable displays often suffer from light show-through because non-backed media has been used, resulting in a ‘misty’ look. With Helix Silverback technology, I think it’s fair to say we’ve got a Gorilla without the Mist!”
Helix No Light 210 is a 210 micron polypropylene film with a matt surface that is scratch and water-resistant. For added protection and longer outdoor life, Starleaton has a range of compatible laminates available.
Also new with the Silverback lining is Helix Printlux No Light 215 for Aqueous printer applications. Water-based pigmented inks are recommended for this product but dye inks may be used for short-term indoor displays. Helix Printlux No Light is also polypropylene (no PVC) and is 215 microns thick.
A third new Helix Product is translucent for the lightbox display market. This is Helix Solvoprint CityLight 210; a polyester front-print film that looks great backlit or frontlit. It prints with Solvent, Eco-Solvent, Latex and UV Cure inks and exhibits outstanding photo-realistic quality for critical advertising work.
All three new Helix products are available in 36” 42” and 60” widths, with CityLight also available in 50” wide rolls.
