EFI formed the Rastek division when it acquired Raster Printers in 2007 and the printers are marketed by EFI as entry level models, thus differentiating them from the VUTEk range.

rastek_h700.gifThe new model is a hybrid that can print up to 1.8m wide in four colours plus white, at 1200 dpi and capable of producing up to 30m2 per hour at up to 1,200dpi.

According to EFI president Fred Rosenzweig, the new H700 has been extensively re-engineered by EFI to meet the firm’s quality and reliability requirements even though it is still manufactured in China.

Rozenweig stated that the H700 would be marketed at under US$100000.

Terry Crawford, local Sales Development Manager for EFI said that the new Rastek H700 (formerly branded as a Daytona) will include a Fiery XF RIP and use EFI inks. The H700 will be marketed by iMedia, two other models due out later this year, the T660 and T1000 flatbed machines will be marketed by DES.

The T1000 is a larger 1,219x2,032mm version of the 1,219x1,524mm T660.
