The new company, Lana Papiers Speciaux SAS Strasbourg (France), has been incorporated under the leadership of Hahnemühe FineArt GmbH.
The new Lana has made a successful bid to acquire Lana Manufacture de Papier, currently undergoing insolvency proceedings. Both companies will now build a strong reliable partnership with locations in Strasbourg and Dassel/Einbeck to jointly offer their prestigious papers to their global customer base.
Hahnemühle and Lana both enjoy a worldwide reputation as manufacturers of the finest artist and premium speciality papers indeed for more than 400 years.
Hahnemühle is commited to the new Lana and this is a major opportunity for both companies. There are a number of positive synergies between Hahnemühle and Lana: in production, in papermaking expertise, in marketing and of course both companies are compatible regarding sales, stated Jörg Adomat, Managing Director of Hahnemühle FineArt GmbH.
For the more than 420 years Hahnemühle FineArt Gmbh has been manufacturing artists papers of the finest quality. Since its foundation in 1584 Hahnemühle has developed a rich tradition and experience in producing premium artists papers. Hahnemühle is the market leader for traditional and digital Fine Art papers with worldwide market recognition. In addition, Hahnemühle manufactures speciality papers for industrial applications tailored to meet the needs of its customers. The company, domiciled in Germany, has its headquarters in Dassel, southern Lower Saxony. Hahnemühle has two paper machines with an annual capacity of 3000 tonnes and 150 employees worldwide.
Founded in 1590 Lana can look back over a history almost as old as Hahnemühles. In future the product range of the new Lana Papiers Speciaux will be divided into traditional painting and drawing papers, security papers and premium graphic papers for business stationary, presentations and publications. Lana produces and processes its papers in Strasbourg. A sales office is located in Paris. The French paper mill operates three paper machines and generates annual capacity of approx. 12.000 tonnes with 86 employees.
The future combination of the renowned brands Hahnemühle, Moulin de Coq and Lana will ideally strengthen the product range for our customers. Hahnemühle FineArt GmbH and the new Lana Papiers Speciaux will achieve greater market penetration, announced Franz Reinisch, president of the new Lana.
