Hot on the heels of the official release of the all-new DIMENSE DA-640 wide-format dimensional surface printer, Roland DG has extended the functionality of its Roland DG Connect Designer to better accommodate the extended design capacity of the DA-640, such aspreset embossing effects, file preparation, and visualisation for creating textured output on the dimensional printer.
The Roland DG Dimense DA 640 had its own launch room on the Celmac stand at PacPrint
Ryugo Nimura, President of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division, says: “The Dimense DA-640 enables the on-demand printing of unique, dimensional surface designs, so is a powerful solution for print service providers, architects and designers when looking to address the growing demand for bespoke experiences and to pursue their own style, in commercial and hospitality environments, residential spaces, entertainment, and retail design.”
“This new-generation software was developed to make it easier and more efficient for those users, bringing different objectives, skills, and experience levels, to use our inkjet printers. The new module enables users to tailor their design workflow by installing modular features specific to the Dimense, so that they can activate only the functions they need, thereby simplifying operations and reducing costs.”Ryugo Nimura, President of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division
The DIMENSE solution consists of newly developed printheads to optimise output, plus specialized media that raises up to 2mm in thickness when exposed to the heat in the printer, and a structural ink that precisely controls where the embossing occurs on the print.
“On-demand printing solutions are increasingly being used in a variety of fields,” says Nimura, “and our goal is to provide the most efficient and profitable solutions for all of our users. In addition to Roland DG Connect Designer, we’ll continue to develop additional modules that help users enjoy and leverage the capabilities of our printers to build and grow their businesses.”
