Only four months on from its official launch in March 2025, HP has announced a 100th global installation of its all-in-one, compact HP Latex R530 printer, developed to help small to mid-size printers address key barriers in rigid media printing.

Through combining quality, flexibility and ease of use, we’re enabling PSPs to unlock new opportunities while maintaining sustainable operations.”

The 100th printer was installed at FASTSIGNS in Tigard, Oregon, an early adopter of the R530 platform. Closer to home, Adelaide based Signageworld was one of the first to install the HP Latex 530 printers, following the Australian launch of the printer at PacPrint. Signageworld owners Derek and Lisa Michalanney used the printer to create a range of signage for Katy Perry's four sold-out concerts at the Adelaide EntertainmentSignageworld used the HP Latex 530 to create signage for Katy Perrys concerts at the Adelaide Entertainment CentreSignageworld used the HP Latex 530 to create signage for Katy Perrys concerts at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Centre.

Derek says: “The fact that it is a hybrid roll-to-roll and flatbed printer means we didn't need two separate machines,” adding, “we can use this piece of equipment to improve productivity and create new product offerings for our customers."

Aran Kilpatrick of Graphic Art Mart sold the printer to Signageworld and adds: "The HP Latex 530 is a great fit for businesses like Signageworld. The fact that it is a hybrid makes it flexible, has a relatively small footprint, and it is cost-effective."

The printer offers a space-efficient, cost-effective entry point into rigid and flexible applications, supported by features such as seamless substrate switching, HP Pixel Control technology for vibrant colour and smooth gradients, and automated systems for ink recirculation and printhead cleaning. Its single-phase power system also enables easy integration into space-constrained production environments.

While acknowledging the milestone, HP also emphasised the platform's broader value proposition for businesses globally. ‘HP’s combined hardware and software developments reflect a continued commitment to innovation in the wide-format space, with the aim of simplifying production processes and enhancing competitiveness for print businesses around the world.’
