South Australia-based sign-maker, Vision Sign Works, recently used Drytac’s Polar Premium and Weathershield Matte to create a series of eye-catching, exterior graphics to help upgrade a seafront area in Adelaide.

Home to a range of bars, cafes and restaurants, Marina Per in Glenelg, needed a facelift, and the task of producing some eye-catching graphics was given to nearby, Maslin Beach sign shop, Vision Sign Works.
Due to the seafront location of the area, Vision identified the need to work with materials that would not only ensure the printed applications looked the part but would also stand the test of time due to being constantly exposed to the elements. Quickly determining that Drytac’s Polar Premium, polymeric printable self-adhesive vinyl was the ideal film for the job, Vision decided to pair the Polar Premium with Drytac’s Weathershield Matte polymeric PVC over-laminating film, for additional protection against the elements the graphics were likely to need.
Drytac Weathershield Matte uses more complex plasticisers than less expensive monomeric PVC films, resulting in significantly improved durability and weatherability
Both materials were purchased from Shann Digital Print Media (DPM), part of The Shann Group and Drytac’s exclusive distribution partner in Australia.
Vision printed all the graphics in-house on its HP Latex 365 printer and, despite running into several issues with the Adelaide weather during installation (extreme heat first thing, followed by gale winds in the afternoon) Vision was able to complete the installation successfully and on-time.

SpotOn Duo, which joins ReTac Duo in Drytac’s growing portfolio of double-sided mounting adhesive solutions, features a permanent adhesive on one side, designed to adhere to the printed graphic, and Drytac’s signature removable SpotOn dot-pattern adhesive on the other, which faces the installation surface. This simple peel-and-stick solution is easy to apply, making it ideal for both professional installers and DIY users.
The film is well-suited for mounting synthetic block-out papers or card-stocks printed on both sides. It is an ideal solution for push/pull messaging on storefront glass and windows in retail environments. In addition to retail applications, SpotOn Duo can be used for in-store signage, temporary promotional graphics, advertisements, POP displays, event graphics, and presentation projects.
SpotOn Duo is available in roll widths up to 51 inches (1,300 mm) for wide-format jobs, and in 2-inch (50 mm) tape-style rolls for smaller-scale applications. The product offers durability of up to two years indoors and six months outdoors.
