Launching a world-first at FESPA Berlin, Mimaki has used the platform to reveal its new ELH and ELS Next Generation SVHC- and CMR-Free ink range, as pressure to restrict the use of inks and printed materials containing Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) or Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, and Reproductive (CMR) toxicants continues to increase.
Demand for SVHC- and CMR-free products continues to accelerate against a backdrop of increasing awareness around toxins that are harmful to health and the environment
Arjen Evertse, newly promoted to Director Sales at Mimaki Europe and the first locally-appointed member to join the Mimaki Europe Board of Directors, says: “In recent times, demand for SVHC- and CMR-free products has been growing rapidly against the backdrop of increasing awareness for safety, the environment, and health.

“Being the first to develop inks that meet these concerns head-on demonstrates Mimaki’s commitment to developing products that are safe, highly functional and environmentally friendly. In addition, many of the brands our customers supply now promote CMR-free compliance as part of efforts to strengthen corporate sustainability strategies and ESG investment. These new inks will therefore give our customers a strong competitive edge to further support brands with their own sustainability strategy and goals.”
While visitors to Mimaki’s FESPA stand (Hall 1.2 / Stand B20) will have the opportunity to preview these new inks before they come to market, the ELH and ELS inks are scheduled for gradual release after June 2025. Notably, the new ELH inks maintain the same high scratch resistance as the conventional LH-100, while the ELS inks provide the same flexibility as the conventional LUS-120.
Other new print solutions being shown by Mimaki at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025 include the new Mimaki UJV300DTF-75 Printer, which leverages Mimaki’s UV printing expertise to deliver a reliable solution for object decoration, enabling high-quality, durable prints on surfaces that were previously unsuitable for direct UV printing. And, as previously reported in WFOL, the Mimaki JV200-160 easy-to-use roll-to-roll printer and Tx330-1800 textile and apparel markets will make their EMEA debut at FESPA too, with Mimaki Europe also using the event to articulate their new Print Different strategy to enable further ‘horizontal growth’ to push the boundaries of what is possible, supported by ‘vertical growth’ through continuing to support entry-level and industrial scale print production.
Looking forward to May 20th, Mimaki will be presenting all this and more at PacPrint 2025 on stand B58
