Supplier Ball & Doggett says huge increases in international shipping costs could continue until the end of 2021, with supply being further complicated by port congestion and Covid-19 work force constraints. B&D has announced it's raising its prices from next week. The company has also noted a "strong shift from plastic to fiber-based packaging." 

Esko & Enfocus plan to roll out innovations at virtual.drupa

Esko and Enfocus say they will be jointly exhibiting latest portfolios of hardware and software innovations at next month’s virtual.drupa event. Esko, manufacturer of Kongsberg wide format cutting tables and digital cutters, will introduce its new Cloud Freedom strategy, while Enfocus will unveil software version updates for PitStop Pro, PitStop Server, Switch and Connect 2021.

Ovato lost $9.7m in H1 as restructure 'resets balance sheet'

Ovato recorded a net loss of $9.7 million for the six months to 31 December 2020, with sales falling by 28.2% to $236.2M compared to the corresponding six month period, which was prior to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Heatset catalogue printing and residential distribution volumes are not returning as quickly as expected due to the lingering impacts of COVID-19."

Another $15m in Jobkeeper helps IVE to 'solid' first-half FY21

Print and marketing group IVE reported $23 million in net profit for the first half, up from $17.7m pcp despite a 3% fall in revenue to $340.8m. “We estimate a revenue reduction to pcp of circa $50m as a result of the impacts of COVID-19, particularly in the retail catalogue and travel sectors."

"An exceptional start to the year" says HP CEO

HP reported strong revenue and profit growth in the first quarter, with net revenue up 7% to $US15.6bn from the prior-year period, driven by demand for notebook computers and consumer printers. “Our Printing business generated revenue of $5 billion and operating profit of $1 billion.” Commercial printer sales remained flat.
