Effective February 2007, DES will be serving a broad range of markets concerned with colour predictability and verification. Including their usual domains, digital imaging, prepress, pressroom, photographic and creative, DES will also now expand their offering into colour and appearance management for industrial and medical markets.

This is another accolade for DES, who is currently enjoying exclusive local distribution for some of the worlds leading imaging technology brands. X-Rite completes the portfolio in the colour management division, complementing in house colour consultancy Chromaticity Australia.

Following a merger with CyraChrome late last year, DES is in a strong position in the digital imaging market and will maintain the high levels of service, support and innovation that X-Rite requires.

"Existing X-Rite users and customers will benefit from a local Master Distributor, with strong technical resources who is aware of local market trends and requirements. Users can look forward to increased levels of local sales and technical service and support," said Ian Clare, Managing Director of DES

“DES are honoured to be selected as Master Distributor, X-Rite recognised our technical skills and resources. We are looking forward to the challenge of building the X-Rite brand in Australia and New Zealand," he continued.

The appointment of DES will mean that they will carry a local inventory of X-Rite products, support the products with their technical team, and extend their local colour management training through their Chromaticity training division.

“We are looking forward to working with DES as Master Distributor. They are a strong, innovative organization with unmatched strength in the application of colour management technology. DES shares our commitment to expand the Australasian market and drive the X-Rite brand.” commented Tom Juntarawatt, Asia Pacific Sales Director for X-Rite.

X-Rite too have recently increased their resources, in July 2006 a new X-Rite organisation was formed through the acquisition of Gretag Macbeth uniting the best innovation, technology and talent in the industry.

DES will be offering the new, integrated product range, combining X-Rite and GretagMacbeth's complementary strengths.
