HP announced at PacPrint 2013 that Brisbane-based Colorcorp has installed the HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press to take on shorter run and customisation jobs as the traditional screen printer broadens its operations into digital.

“We were prompted to move from analog to digital as our customers increasingly asked for print runs with lengths of hundreds instead of the thousands we had been producing,” said Brett Shepherd, managing director, Colorcorp.

FP7600 at ColorcorpThe installation took place to respond to demands for shorter print runs with tighter turnaround times, requests that were often difficult to respond to efficiently and cost-effectively using screen printers. The new machine will be utilized to produce graphics for retail, leveraging the machine’s digital capabilities to create customized print runs.

“Digital printing enables us to respond to the demands for shorter print runs with faster turnaround times,” said Brett. “Our new HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press is also helping us save money on staff hours and storage space. Our screen printers required up to six people to run, with up to 300 square metres of surrounding space. The HP Scitex FB7600 Press requires two people to manage and only occupies 100 square metres of space.”

Established in 1982, Colorcorp specialises in point-of-sale and fleet graphics. The company prides itself on providing innovative, original creative solutions to its client base.

“We’re proud of the work we do and excited about offering the benefits that our newly installed HP Scitex machine will bring to our customers,” said Brett.
