Fuji Xerox Australia hosted the first public viewing of the DocuWide C842, at the Fuji Xerox Australia Freedomland stand at this year's PacPrint.

The DocuWide C842 is the fastest wide format device currently available in the market with the industry's highest colour output speed of 152.4 mm/sec (more than 320 sq m per hour) with 1067mm or 42-inch wide print capabilities. The device services the needs of the design, advertising, manufacturing, construction, engineering and other sectors that require very fast turnarounds with added variable data inputs.
Unlike the generic inkjet printer system which has a moving print head, the DocuWide C842 has five Memjet print heads arranged and fixed in a zigzag formation. These print heads simultaneously produce jets of four colour inks (CMYK) to enable one-pass printing, thereby realizing the highspeed output.
Cutting edge developments in ink technology contributes to consistent print quality of 1600x1600 dots per inch (dpi) output resolution, including a newly developed ink circulating system which eliminates air bubbles and impurities.
The ultra-fast wide-format device can handle printing up to 1067mm or 42 inches and long-paper printing up to five metres, making it ideal for exhibition signage and in-store displays or posters, as well as illustrations, perspective drawings, technical document texts and photographs - applicable to a multitude of sectors. The reduced turnaround time to deliver at a range of sizes helps organisations efficiently deliver high quality prints, while focusing on sustainable growth through new opportunities.
"The DocuWide C842 is suitable for multiple industry sectors requiring full colour wide format print at a fast pace. The ease of use, rapid speed and variable data input improves operational efficiency by reducing turnaround times and allows our customers to focus on in what matters in the business - to grow and prosper," said Peter Collings, National Business Manager - Wide Format at Fuji Xerox Australia. "The DocuWide C842 is designed to meet these demands, enabling businesses to improve design drawings and marketing communications, as well as handle timely outputs and a large range of large print job requirements."
Businesses can also minimise paper waste with the smart eco-design features of the DocuWide C842. Paper is supplied via 4 rolls providing flexibility for different output sizes. Paper direction or rotation is automatically adjusted, reducing waste. In addition, sample prints can be previewed before final printing in ink saving mode, effectively cutting down ink consumption by up to 40 per cent. The DocuWideC842 supports many print applications achieved by printing to a wide variety of coated and uncoated media colour profiled and tested to work seamlessly with the device.
"We were thrilled when Fuji Xerox Australia invited Pegasus Print Group to participate in an early customer acceptance testing program," said Wayne Finkelde CEO, Pegasus Print Group, one of the first worldwide customers. The DocuWide C842 has delivered significant improvements and new opportunities in our business. We have seen processes streamlined and turnaround times greatly reduced. This technology has the potential to create new markets and create value for our customers In fact, we can already see the benefits for our customers and the new markets we can now serve."
