Job seekers and employers have now, in addition to the free ad service offered by this magazine, a free online Jobs Board service by Printing Industries Association of Australia.

The Jobs Board aims to encourage potential apprentices to register their interest in industry careers and employers to register suitable jobs.
Both groups then receive support through the Printing Industries Australian Apprenticeship Advisor and Mentoring program.
National Program Manager Ian Walz, said the secure service allows employers to publish vacancies on a career specific website after registering.
“Once approved companies can receive and review applications, manage the contact process or arrange an interview with suitable candidates,” he said.
“When an employer engages an apprentice, a Printing Industries Mentor can then mentor that apprentice to ensure they are on track with their training, on track with commitment and with their career.”
Mr Walz said the mentors had been travelling around the country during the past few months spreading the ”good word” about the industry’s development and evolution in a new communication era with new opportunities.
“They have visited careers expos, apprenticeship functions and exhibitions and met with more than 500 job seekers who now know how creative, exciting and important the printing industry is.
“We keep in regular contact with job seekers, career advisors, agencies and job service providers to ensure a great pool of talent is available for industry businesses,” he said.
Mr Walz said employers could also get information from the website on how to engage an apprentice; government incentives and how to take advantage of them and how to arrange the necessary training.
“The best part is that the whole process is free – it just needs the commitment of young people and employers to go forward,” he said.
