EFI has announced that its VUTEk QS2 Pro would be seen for the first time in Australia at next week’s Visual Impact Image Expo in Sydney.

First launched at Drupa, the QS2 Pro UV hybrid printer caters to the increasing demand from display producers, photo labs and sign makers for higher image quality capabilities at production level speeds. It will be the star attraction on the stand of EFI inkjet distributor DES (Stand D14).
Vutek QS 2 ProThe competitively-priced, two-metre printer, driven by the Orion OS platform, combines greyscale print quality with VUTEk production-level speeds for customers looking to take on more colour critical and higher-premium jobs. Fine art and P-O-P image quality are delivered through true variable drop greyscale technology, six colours plus white, and multi-layer print capability all in line.
“Greyscale technology delivers high image quality at production speeds while maximizing ink yield for a lower cost per print and low total cost of ownership,” says Simon Trytell, sales development manager EFI inkjet solutions. "Customers visiting the EFI stand at Drupa were very impressed by the image quality, speed and overall performance of the QS2 Pro and we’re expecting plenty of interest from VIIE visitors."
Flexible EFI UV inks offer a wide colour gamut for greater PMS color matching and consistency, and ensure the maximum reliability and performance of the printer. The ruggedly constructed VUTEk QS2 Pro is designed for extended operation and has an optional roll-to-roll feature for even more throughput.
The printer is supplied with the Fiery XF proServer to increase productivity, performance and efficiency of every job. It comes with an expanded set of Fiery® RIP options, a high-performance hardware platform, JDF integration to EFI Web-to-Print and MIS/ERP solutions.

Two of EFI's popular entry-level wideformat printers will also be featured at next week’s PrintCom which is running in tandem with the Visual Impact Image Expo at Darling Harbour in Sydney.
Featuring on the stand of EFI VUTEk and Rastek inkjet distributor Spicers (Stand H9), will be the EFI Rastek T1000 and H652 UV printers.

Rastek H652
The Rastek 652 UV printer

The T1000 UV flatbed printer, which had its Australian debut at VIIE Gold Coast earlier this year, offers CMYK plus white ink and grayscale high resolution print quality without any compromise on speed, and delivers best-in-class, high definition photographic image quality on a larger flatbed vacuum table platform.
“It is the perfect choice for traditional signage and specialty markets, says Simon Trytell, inkjet sales development manager for EFI Australia, “as it has a number of high-quality output options using CMYK plus white with specially formulated inks designed to provide maximum adhesion on rigid and flexible materials. The incorporation of white ink means that jobs can be over-printed, under-printed or have spot colour applied without compromising the overall throughput speed.”
Also featuring on the Spicers’ stand will be the EFI H652.  The affordable entry-level production UV hybrid solution is perfect for printers wanting to offer wide-format applications ranging from banners and billboards to posters and point-of-purchase graphics. With white ink capabilities and greyscale high resolution print quality, the H652 delivers saturated colours and smooth gradients.
“Best-in-class image quality, speed and affordability,” says Trytell, “make the H652 the perfect choice if you are a quick print, graphic arts, production or print shop where image quality and speed are critical.”
