Matan Digital Printers, celebrating 20 years of digital printing innovation, is to launch its newest Super-wide UV hybrid printer, the 8-color Barak 8Q at Drupa 2012. The new Barak 8Q represents a quantum leap in print quality, resulting from the combination of 8-color printing with Matan’s patent-pending PDS technology. Maintaining the best production velocity available, of 353 m2/hr (3,800 ft2/hr) the Barak 8Q also includes a package of unique productivity and usability features, such as automatic double-sided printing, an automatic flatbed loader and un-loader, inline finishing and more. These unique additions together, contribute towards the lowest cost of ownership in the market today. Matan’s Drupa booth #A56 at Hall 9 will showcase two Barak Matan Barak 8Q

8Q hybrid printers, 3m and 5m wide.
Matan offers its entire line of Barak printers, which includes a wide range of all-in-one solutions for indoor & outdoor applications supporting both flexible and rigid media, at the best cost of ownership available. As a Drupa special – the Barak product line starts at the amazing price of €169K for the Barak 3 (16 heads 3.5 meter).
“Our unique PDS – Parallel Drop Size technology is now brought up to the next level, combined with 8-colour printing. This enables maximum print quality at print speeds that were not available before”, says Mr. Hanan Yosefi, CEO and President of Matan.
Matan’s proprietary PDS technology enables printing of 20pl (pico-liter) and 40pl drops in the same printing pass. 20pl drops enhance print quality of fine details and smooth images while 40pl drops achieve ink coverage and density, all with the high printing velocity that the Barak is renowned for.
Designed for maximum versatility, ink switching between 4 and 8 colour printing modes in the Barak 8Q is exceptionally quick, with minimal ink wastage in the process.
To maximize utilization of machine time and minimize time-consuming manual tasks, Matan has equipped the new 8Q platform with some groundbreaking automation tools, including automatic double-sided printing, an auto media handling system for loading and unloading rigid media, inline finishing and more. These new options allow print shop owners to generate much more from their printer. Additional innovations include a mobile operator’s station and a unique media saving system, significantly contributing to the Barak 8Q’s low cost of ownership.
Also displayed at Matan’s booth is the SprinG3 industrial digital printer, delivering short runs of durable graphics such as labels, decals, membranes, license plates, traffic and other signs.
