"After the huge success of the Aurora Graphics GT car wrap at Visual Impact/Image Expo in Sydney, Australian Visual Solutions (AVS) will now be touring the country sharing such an outstanding vehicle wrap with our customers", said Cameron Sutherland of AVS.

The Aurora Graphic based design stole the show at the show in Darling Harbour in July. The design was the work of Nick Thompson from Graphic effects. Nick used four different Aurora templates to achieve the stunning design Flame, metal mesh, barb wire and carbon fiber. The image was then printed on a six colour Roland XC 540 using “W pass” to bring out the rich colour detail of the design.

aurora graphics 300.gifThe product chosen for the print and wrap on the Aurora GT was the new generation 180Comply version 2. This was chosen for many reasons but the key points was that Nick at Graphic Effects came up with a design that could not be compromised and had to be printed on stock that would do the graphic justice. The new 180Comply version2 passed all the tests and the new refined air flow channelling proved both appealing to the eye and applied a treat. The over laminate chosen was a high gloss, paint style finish over laminate by 3M called 8518. The 8518 is suitable for vehicle wrapping and is ultra thin and completely conformable with a durability of up to 3 years

The final choice of product was based around the fact that this car would go around Australia and be seen by thousands of sign writers, printers and graphic designers so we could not cut corners. The professional and sensible choice was to use a product by 3M. 3M Australia manufacture a  wide range of digital media  and  could professionally advise AVS of the best product for the application.

“We chose 3M because we could not afford our reputation to be compromised by curling edges or popping recesses.”

The Aurora graphics car will be traveling around Australia for the rest of the year. The trip so far has seen the car travel from Sydney via Wagga, Albury/Wodonga and Shepparton. The car will be touring around Melbourne and Victoria through the month of August before heading to South Australia and Tasmania for the month of September. The Aurora GT will then head inland and up to Queensland and Northern NSW until Christmas. Please keep an eye out for the Aurora GT pulling into your print/sign shop.
