A wide range of industry training courses has been released by Printing Industries in Victoria and New South Wales for the second part of 2011.

Victorian courses include:
Dynamic Leadership Skills Tuesday 6-8 September.
This Course is designed for managers, up and coming managers or team leaders who may not necessarily have the experience, understanding and confidence. It is also appropriate for more experienced managers who would like a ‘new look’ at the latest management and leadership techniques.

Print Awareness - Print Production Techniques 15 September.
This introductory module is to equip participants with a broad understanding of commercial print. With an emphasis on printing processes and production work-flow, it will enable candidates to define and communicate their individual printing requirements.

Effective Sales in Print and Communications 17 -18 October and 24 - 25 October.
Designed to suit the needs of people who are just commencing a career in sales as well as those who simply wish to brush up their techniques and rekindle their passion.

New South Wales courses include:
Sustainable Green Print (SGP) Level 1. 11 August.
This introductory level course focuses on waste, storage and handling and recycling. It is ideal for the small company starting down the compliance path. SGP Level 1 covers record-keeping, compliance and cleaner production practices and waste management.

Sustainable Green Print (SGP) Level 2. 12 August.
Level 2 introduces additional levels of management and control including the tracking of waste streams and brings in a focus on your energy consumption and carbon footprint. It provides key performance indicators for printing businesses covering waste, recycling, energy, water, incident management, storage and handling of printing chemicals, energy and air emissions.

Print Awareness for Non Printers 18 August.
The course covers the main printing processes: letterpress / flexography / pad, lithography (Offset), screen, gravure, reprography (laser, high speed photo copiers), digital – Lite, medium and heavy – toner and inkjet.

Colour Management Workshop 8 September.
The workshop covers the basics of colour management, , RGB, CMYK and LAB profiles, calibration, rendering, transforms; colour viewing standards; colour proofing options; understanding ISO 12647.2; working backwards from press profile and printing to ISO standards.

Print Production and Procurement 15 September.
This workshop has been specifically designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills that will enable you to specify and then make well informed, environmentally sustainable print production and procurement decisions for a broad range of products.

Apply First Aid 18 October.
This one day intensive course is a nationally accredited Practical and Assessment based program suitable for all nominated first aid staff.
