The Russian Sun Innovations Company will present the first samples of printed solar cells at the  Ink Jet Technology Showcase in Barcelona on the 8th-9th of June.

Sun Innovations Company with the support of Rusnano and Innovation Centre “Skolkovo” is working on developing this technology so that solar panels can be printed on any surface.

solar_airplane1The company said that traditional solar cells quickly "burn out" in the sun and are  very expensive to manufacture. The principle of the new solar cell is based on the use of fatty quantum dots and carbon nanotubes.

Quantum dots concentrate solar energy; nanotubes deliver energy to the battery terminals with no losses.

Nataly Stasyuk, director of SUN Innovations Company said, "This is the latest nanotechnology, which greatly increases the energy return, and most importantly - makes the battery practically eternal. In fact, we step into the future!  Our investors made this step with us, not being afraid of investment in the technologies of the future!”

The main advantage of the new technology is in making the battery. Instead of complex traditional technology, which requires huge industrial equipment, we offer a simple print.

This means that very soon, anyone can become the owner of his own "solar power" - on the roof of the house, on the window glass, on cloth.
