Australian based Impression Technology Pty Ltd, one of a few Australian exhibitors at the Ipex show has generated quite a buzz with their new inkjet label printer range Rapid label Systems X1 and X2 models.

“Perhaps not surprisingly, the interest for the Rapid machines came not only from traditional label printers, but also from a far wider than expected audience. With fast print speeds and low cost of ownership, those who stopped by the booth recognised the easy ROI on the Rapid machines  but also a better ROI on their larger machines by freeing up production space and creating flexibility within their organisations." said Mr Jerry Erich,

Many orders were taken at Ipex 2010 within the first hour of the opening day but also many enquiries were received about distribution rights throughout the globe.

Over the coming months the entire sales team at Impression Technology will be working to establish and setup a distribution channel for the Rapid Label machines in all continents.

Rapid Label machines Product review:

The RapidX1 is a roll to roll printer with a 12”(305 mm)OD unwind and rewind capacity, 8 ½” wide 5 colour print head, optical sensor for pre-cut and stripped labels and maximum print resolution of 1600 x 1600 DPI.

Along with other benefits, the range includes individual colours in 250ml containers to allow long runs without having to stop to replenish ink.

The RapidX1 is also capable of printing on continuous media without registration marks. Maximum print speed is 12” per second at 1600 x 800 DPI.

Impression Technology also showcased the RapidX2, utilising the same print engine technology, the X2 has a large diameter unwind, and loop outfeed enabling the printer to run in line with post finishing equipment.

A range of post finishing options are also available, specifically engineered to match the high throughput speeds of the X1 and X2 machines. Finishing options include: flexo coating, laminating, semi-rotary and flat-bed die-cutting units, as well as Rapid’s existing range of embossing, foiling and slitting machines.

According to Mr Stephen Richardson, Director of Impression technology; “The all new Rapid Label system will open new markets at a breakthrough entry level price. Now companies looking to add profit opportunities with Labels to their production can have a full label system at a fraction of the cost of larger commercial grade Digital label printers. We are proud to partner with Rapid Label equipment and Memjet. The Memjet technology is quite literally the fastest and most economical in the market.”
