It's being reported that Seiko Instruments USA conducted research that shows that the ColorPainter V-64s uses more than 30% less ink than many of its competitors.

In addition the study showed that up to 40 percent less ink was needed to achieve the same colour density in high magenta spot colors.

Seiko claim that their industrial inkjet print heads can jet thicker, higher pigment-loaded inks; and therefore, can create the same colour density using less ink.

Many of the competitive machines use the same or similar Epson inkjet print heads and the same ink under different brand names, Seiko claim that the results can be applied to other Epson based printers using similar inks.
