Sepiax inks, the water based inks that are reputed to work well with virtually any coated or uncoated media and any Epson print head machine (Roland, Mutoh and Mimakis) are being launched in the US at the ISA show.

We have written about Sepiax before and others have been quoted as saying it is a 'gamechanger' in that it can print onto just about anything for indoor or outdoor applications. The ink is claimed to have a three year outdoor life span without lamination.

Being water based it is 100% eco friendly and odourless and users are reporting that it only takes less than half the ink, compared to an OEM ink, to print the same image.

The colour gamut is almost the same as OEM inks.

Developed in Austria and part of the huge Gernot Langes-Swarovski Group, the water based inks have yet to receive (as far as we know) any negative reporting.

Sepiax Inks have opened an office in Shanghai to service the Asia Pacific region. Well known industry personality Stewart Partridge is heading the Sepiax drive into the AP region. His contact details are +86 21 6103 5883 and email contact is stewartpartridge@aol.com.

We hope to bring you more on the progress of this technology and its impact on the ink market, specifically in our region.
