Epson will work closely with a few highly focused and experienced partners using targeted marketing programs to ensure strong growth in sales for its large format printers in the Australian and NZ architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and Print Shop markets.

Craig Heckenberg, Business Unit Manager, Business Solutions Division, Epson Australia, said using a specialised channel provides customers with expert pre-sales support and helps develop a strong relationship that fosters future business opportunities.

Epson_-_Jim_WalshTo lead the sales program, Epson has appointed the very experienced Jim Walsh as National Business Development Manager - AEC, GIS and Office Markets, for its business products portfolio.

Craig said Jim’s extensive 20 years in the Australian and NZ AEC and Print Shop markets provides Epson with a depth of experience and range of opportunities to further develop this segment.

Jim said the Epson Stylus Pro 7700 and Stylus Pro 9700, with their fast print speeds, water resistant prints, and low running costs, are well suited to the needs of his customers.

“The flexibility and ease of use of the Stylus Pro 7700 and Stylus Pro 9700 allows quick production of durable prints of plans and drawings, while also being capable of producing high gloss presentation prints, all at a very attractive price,” Jim said.

“We are also developing a solution specifically aimed at the poster market. The low running costs and the ability to print high coverage on uncoated paper make these printers very competitive as an alternative to offset printing for short runs,” Jim said.

Jim is also has responsibility for further development of Epson’s Business product portfolio.

Jim first worked in the AEC market in the late 80s designing catamaran ferries and has been involved with CAD software and hardware ever since. Including a total of 12 years at Oce, Jim has a vast knowledge of the large format printer market and is looking forward to using this to assist Epson’s partners to build their large format business.
