The booming Fine Art and Photographic reproduction markets will soon be able to try a familiar brand name for their large format digital inkjet masterpieces.

Kodak, the brand synonymous with excellence in all forms of graphic reproduction, has developed seven grades of media specifically designed for the exacting needs of limited art reproductions, museum exhibits and professional photography. As with all other Kodak roll inkjet media, the Australian distributor is Starleaton Digital Solutions.

kodak_farolls2.jpg“Our first shipment arrives in November, “ says Starleaton Director Gary Smith, “and it is all backed by Kodak’s Performance Guarantee that assures users that their prints will not crack, fade or bleed when used in approved printer, ink and Kodak media combinations. With Hewlett Packard, Epson and Encad/Kodak printers durability of well over 100 years has been tested, while testing is in progress on Canon’s ImagePrograf range.”

The new Kodak Fine Art (FA) range includes: FA Fibre Glossy and Satin – both acid and lignin free and available in 285gsm weight; FA Smooth and Textured – 100% cotton rag media in 315gsm weight;  FA Coated Matte in 200gsm and FA Canvas in Semigloss or Matte. The existing Kodak Premium Photographic 260gsm Gloss and Lustre are also of Fine Art grade.

All are available in roll widths from 17 inches (430mm) to 44 inches (1112mm), with FA Canvas available up to 60 inches (1524mm) to allow for stretching.

Smith continues: “ICC profiles are available for download from the Kodak website (www.kodak.com/go/wfiprofiles) where there is also extensive support information. Of course, our SDS colour technicians can also create custom profiles for our Fine Art and Professional Photographic customers.”

Kodak Fine Art inkjet roll media is also available through Australian Photo Supplies (http://www.apspl.com.au/) and other dealers appointed by Starleaton.
