Digital printing company Clickmedia, based in the heart of the growing Western Sydney/Blue Mountains region at Penrith, last week welcomed not one but two Federal MPs to mark the installation of a new Océ Arizona 350GT Flatbed UV machine, alongside an Océ CS650 Pro cut-sheet colour press and Varioprint 2090 B&W unit.

Senator Nick Sherry, who is also Assistant Federal Treasurer, and the Member for Lindsay, David Bradbury both visited Clickmedia and expressed keen interest in how this dynamic company has upgraded its technology, using the Rudd Government’s Small Business Tax Break covering 50% of the investment cost.

“The Small Business Tax Break has encouraged operators to buy equipment they need for their businesses now, supporting the economy and helping to create opportunities for jobs and growth,” said the Assistant Treasurer.

Clickmedia’s General Manager, Brendan McKeown commented; “With the assistance of the Federal Government’s investment tax allowance, we made the decision to purchase a next generation large-format printer that enables us to take on work that was never before possible. We chose the Océ Arizona 350 for its image quality, format and the fact that it runs rigid and flexible roll media with ease.”

MP for Lindsay, David Bradbury has encouraged Penrith area businesses to take advantage of the Small Business Tax Break, with great success. “Businesses have until the end of the year to purchase equipment to be eligible to access the Small Business Tax Break (for businesses with a turnover of $2 million or less). I encourage all local businesses in our community to take advantage of this initiative,” he said.

Clickmedia was established in 2000 from a professional photographic background and has grown into an all-round digital printing business covering virtually all formats from A5 up to A0 and beyond. Colour A4/A3 is performed on the Océ CS650pro with mono documents running through the Varioprint 2090. Clickmedia also operates Canon wide-format printers and a Xerox machine.

The open house attracted customers, suppliers and the local press, with the Arizona garnering much of the attention. As Production Manager Louise Barnes noted; “It’s different to anything we’ve ever had before and the results are wonderful.”
