GAMAA is pleased to announce the successful recipients of the 2009 GAMAA Leadership Programme Scholarship.

The recipients are -  Darren Reynolds, Production Manager – Printing and Pre Press, Cryovac Australia; Christoph Lebesmuehlbacher, Customer Support Manager WA, Heidelberg Graphic Equipment; and Stephen Murphy, Press Operations Manager, Fairfax Printers (Fairfax Media). 

“On behalf of the GAMAA members I welcome the new scholars and commend them on their commitment to furthering their education through our Leadership Programme,” said Mitchell Mulligan, President GAMAA.   “The GAMAA Leadership Programme has awarded over thirty four scholarships since its inception in 2002 including thirty full scholarships.  We are very proud of this initiative which is currently one of the core activities for GAMAA.” 

Samantha Crock, GAMAA Education Manager said “The 2009 Scholarship round attracted a high calibre of applicant which made selection extremely difficult.”  Selection is made via written application and personal interview.

On notification of their scholarships, recipients had the following comments:

Darren Reynolds, Production Manager - Printing and Pre Press, Cryovac Australia: “It is a great honour to be accepted into the GAMAA Leadership programme. In this time of economic uncertainty focussing energy on the development of people will ensure that the industry continues to prosper and I must thank GAMAA for this valuable initiative.”

“This personal development opportunity will continue to enable me to forge a dedicated career path in an industry I feel so passionate about. To be able to network with likeminded peers will bring a fresh perspective on the new issues the industry and its future leaders must face and adapt to.

“I truly look forward to this new challenge with a sense of curiosity, excitement and pride.”

Christoph Lebesmuehlbacher, Customer Support Manager WA, Heidelberg Graphic Equipment: “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to GAMAA for awarding me the 2009 GAMAA Scholarship. The programme will undoubtedly permit me to further my academic studies and allow me to become an even more active player in the future of our printing industry.”
