Canon has announced two new 24 inch (609mm) wide format printers, the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S and the imagePROGRAF iPF6200.

The iPF6200S is a 12-colour pigment ink model, capable of producing a borderless print at 2,400 x 1,200 dpi prints and joins the ranks of other excellent machines designed for the photography, fine art and proofing markets.

ipf6200.jpgIt can output an A1 print in less than a minute and includes built-in colour calibration.

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6200, in common with other members of the Canon imagePROGRAF range, features a highly efficient workflow with three media paths – roll and two manual feeds.

The second product to be introduced is the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S, an 8 colour pigment ink machine designed more for sign making and poster production where speed is perhaps more important in this production environment.

Both devices are supplied complete with a range of software including Digital Photo Front Access, Adobe PhotoShop Plug-in and PosterArtist Lite – Canon’s poster creation tool. The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S also features Economy Printing Mode, which means less ink is consumed, giving low running costs. Both devices come with an 80GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) as standard to process and store large print jobs.
