For an 11th consecutive year, Epson’s intellectual property achievements have been roundly recognised by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM), a global intellectual property media outlet, naming Epson as one of 101 companies in the Asia-Oceania region to receive a 2025 Asia IP Elite award.

Every year, IAM evaluates the intellectual property activities of companies and organisations and selects the top-performers that demonstrate excellence in intellectual property value creation. The 2025 Asia IP Elite awards recognise companies that incorporate intellectual property strategy into their core business operations and that proactively utilise intellectual property and resolve IP disputes. These companies are selected for their innovative approaches in converting intellectual property into corporate values.
Epson's strength lies in its patent portfolio, centred on inkjet and piezo technologies, and boasting top-class positions in Japan, the United States and China. Epson also maintains high competitiveness in projector and robotics fields and has made significant advances in cross-licensing and anti-counterfeiting measures, and on IP utilisation to support open innovation and co-creation with startups.
An Epson spokesperson acknowledge that in all the above areas, ‘Epson is achieving considerable success in converting intellectual property into corporate value, contributing to sustainable growth and the creation of a better future’.
Setting its own benchmarks, Epson has defined five levels in the value hierarchy of its intellectual property activities and its currently sits at Level 4, where IP activities are fully integrated with business strategy. Epson is now striving toward Level 5, aimed at accelerating innovation and strengthening the Epson brand.
