In a move to further strengthen its capacity to support its members and to enable it to further expand its reach, Women in Print Australia has received approval for its new ‘rules of incorporation’. The new framework provides greater flexibility in generating and applying income from activities, while also opening access to nationwide grants and funding opportunities. It also gives the association the ability to launch a tiered membership model, which opens the door to male colleagues to be able to join.

WIP bannerStephanie Gaddin, Chair of Women in Print Australia, says: “Navigating the technicalities of incorporation can feel daunting, but we were committed to making our rules clear, simple, robust, and future-flexible. That work has paid off, and now we can focus on what matters most, building a strong, equitable and fair community for everyone in industry right across the country.”

The approval followed months of work by the Board to simplify and clarify the constitution, ensuring it was both easy to understand and fully compliant with legislative requirements.

With this transition now complete, Women in Print has opened nominations for two key Board positions: Patron for Victoria and Tasmania and Secretary.

Current role holders Rita Karagiannis and Irene Daws will step back but remain active in the organisation—Rita as Deputy Chair and Irene as an Ordinary Board member, leading the Sponsorships and Income Committee. The VIC/TAS Patron role is open to role sharing or the possibility of a dedicated Tasmanian Patron to ensure Tasmania’s representation.

Nominations are open to eligible Full Members and close on Sunday 12th October. Members can submit nominations via the Member Portal, where the new association rules and constitution are available to download.
