Label Power, one of Australia's premier label manufacturers and printer suppliers, has taken out the ‘Excellence with Inkjet – Labels’ award at the 2025 Digital Labels & Packaging Awards in London last week. The winning label - for Coastal Moon Dry Gin - was printed on an Epson Surepress L-6034 VW.
Epson UK’s Christopher Smith was at the iconic Kia Cricket Ground in London to receive the award on behalf of Label Power and once James Malone, Label Power Founder and CEO, received the news and saw photos of Christopher clutching the award, he posted on LinkedIn: ‘I had to pinch myself this morning when I saw the LinkedIn post about us winning this award….given how many inkjet presses are in the market, I'm very, very chuffed!’

Epson's first line-head, inkjet label press with LED UV curing ink, the L-6034VW/L-6034V offers a high quality colour gamut, with tonal gradation, flat print and a lack of graininess that has helped those in the prime label industry overcome any hesitation about using UV ink.
The press runs at speeds up to 49ft/min and presents as a strong option for short-to mid-run jobs up to 13.4" wide. Its space-saving, compact design integrates all the functions required for label production, such as Corona Treater, White ink, digital varnish, and an additional UV curing unit.
The newly adopted pinning technology controls the range of ink scattering and enables ultra-sharp dots and thin lines, opening the door for the press to be used in more discriminating areas such as health and beauty, and food and beverage, as well as for standard consumer packaged goods. In White ink printing, Surface White Print and Reverse-White Print are available to extend the range of expression on clear and metalized films, and with the new digital varnish ink, a gloss or matte finish can be selected.
German company, PSL, took out the Supreme Award for a collaboration between Johnnie Walker (whiskey) and artist Andy Gellenberg, utilizing generative AI to produce 5,000 unique bottle designs that were then printed directly onto rectangular glass bottles using a Koenig & Bauer Kammann K15 inkjet press.
