An interactive sticker-making experience was one of the stand-out attractions at the Kinugasa Art Village Festival in Kyoto, which allowed festival-goers to create personalized stickers by merging their own portraits with the figure of Minamoto no Yorimitsu from the historic Japanese picture scroll Shutendōji,
The scroll had been digitally restored by the Arts Research Centre of Ritsumeikan University, which was celebrating its 125th anniversary at the event.
Meanwhile, due east from Kyoto, an event organised by the Suzuki Motor Corporation and co-hosted with Roland DG and ALTILAN, at the Suzuki History Museum, saw Roland DG and Antigro Designer combine again, to produce personalised space-theme stickers. Using their smartphones, participants were able to access a webpage with three sticker options – putting their faces into an astronaut suit, or piloting a space rocket or customised to suit - notionally taking them on a journey ‘From Hamamatsu to Space’.
Space-themed Suzuki vehicle wraps and an immersive ‘drive in space’ simulator experience were all part of an event that was designed to ignite interest in space exploration and development from the Hamamatsu community, leveraging ALTILAN’s expertise in the space business.
