Mimaki has recently posted its fiscal year end results (for year ending 31st March 2025) and the company has enjoyed steady growth across the board, including a strong sales performance in Australia.

Mimaki logoThe results acknowledged an uncertain global economy, including heightened tensions in the Middle East, ongoing US-China confrontation and prolonged challenges in Europe, caused by high energy prices and the Ukraine crisis. In Japan, exports and inbound demand from tourism contributed to a recovery in capital investment, although uncertainties remained there too.

Against these conditions, the Mimaki Group achieved:

- Net Sales of ¥83,963 million (up 11.0% year-on-year and a record high)

- Operating Profit of ¥9,111 million (up 66.2% YoY)

- Ordinary Profit of ¥8,441 million (up 72.9% YoY)

(noting the Profit Attributable to Owners of Parent as ¥6,156 million - up 66.0% YoY)

During the year, the Mimaki Group also advanced key initiatives against its ‘Mimaki V10’ medium-to-long-term growth strategy, including a focus on new product development, adapting to rapid market changes, and improving profitability - achieving a 10% operating profit margin, one year ahead of schedule (acknowledging that exchange rate impacts also contributed positively to overall performance).

EOFY 25 Performance snapshot

There was a notable increase in sales to the Industrial Products market, driven by the steady development of the main small flatbed models and the introduction of new larger flatbed models, like the JFX600-2531/2513. Sales in the Sign Graphics market also showed growth, particularly for models that use UV inks. Sales to the Textile and Apparel products market were boosted by the launch of the Tx330-1800/1800B textile printers and joint development of the Neo-Chromato Process for decolouring and up-cycling polyester (which received the Senken Gosen Award for Sustainability). And while sales of printed circuit board (PCB) inspection equipment in Asia decreased, there was a significant increase in sales for Factory Automation equipment and PCB mounting equipment within the automotive sector.
