In countries such as Australia and New Zealand, agriculture is big business and increasingly automated with huge farm machinery ploughing, picking, reaping and processing. This presents OH&S challenges even greater than in mining. Orafol has just completed exhibiting its reflective products at the Agritechnica trade fair in Hanover, Germany - with excellent results. This represents exciting new business for regional sign shops.
ORAFOL has completed its first participation in the Agritechnica trade fair in Hanover from 12th to 18th November 2023. The company specialises in the development and production of self-adhesive special films with numerous applications for agricultural machines The range of solutions includes, among others, retroreflective films and materials, films for vehicle labelling, and technical adhesive tapes.
During the initial days of the fair, numerous visitors seized the opportunity to learn more about the 'Made in Germany' quality of Orafol products and the extensive range of self-adhesive specialty films.
Agricultural machines, though designed for use in fields, also travel on public roads. To avoid any safety risk in this environment, agricultural machines can be identified in line with Regulation ECE 86 to effectively increase their visibility.
Known as 'Vehicle Conspicuity,' recognition of large, moving machinery and vehicles is essential as many of the movements occur in early mornings or at dusk when light is dim. Moving parts must also be clearly identified to deter workers from placing hands and limbs too close.
Orafol's adhesive tape systems make agricultural machines and manufacturing processes considerably more efficient. The ORABOND product line offers a wide range of adhesive tapes that ensure secure and robust adhesion. Orafol also develops customer-specific solutions in this field, for example mounting seat heaters or components in the cockpit. Outdoor uses of the adhesive tape systems include the attachment of identification plates, emblems, or mirrors.
Traditionally, the Orafol Group has specialised in developing and producing graphic films, protective laminates, and paint protection films. Orafol has more than 30 years of experience in this field, during which the company has gained expertise in the production of high-quality self-adhesive materials such as plotter and digital printing films, lamination, masking, and application films. This expertise is applied to the fields of advertising, labelling, decoration, car wrapping and many other areas. This too is applicable in agriculture, with decorative and protective film wrapping being applied to farm machinery at an incleasing rate.
The company has also developed highly transparent protective films with a 'Lotus effect' for vehicles subjected to extreme conditions, such as jolting, impact, dust, weather, or chemicals - all of which applies to agricultural environments.
Orafol Australia carries a comprehensive portfolio of graphic films and special films that provide effective protection against stone chipping and glass breakage, retroreflective tapes and rolls.
