The past couple of months have seen no less than nine new appointments at wide-format and signage supplier Starleaton Digital Solutions (SDS). “We’re on the growth trail again,” says managing director Peter Eaton, “last year it was warehouse space and offices, this year it’s people!”

"It’s refreshing to see two ladies joining our all-to-male dominated industry," he said.

The new ‘Starlets’ are in all states and include:

sds_joanne_edwards_qld.gifJoanne Edwards – Queensland Branch Manager
Joanne comes from a materials handling, waste management and OH&S sales background. She is an avid walker and Yoga practitioner and enjoys a spot of Karaoke with a good glass of red and a few friends. “My first challenge is to fully understand the SDS products and customer needs. After that, it’s full on with customer care and supply, building on the existing success.

sds_bill_poole_qld.gifBill Poole – Senior Sales Exec, Queensland
Vast experience in the photographic and digital imaging sphere is Bill’s hallmark, working with products such as Ilford and AVS. He’s a cricket all-rounder enjoying the limited overs game for, shall we say ‘gentlemen over a certain age.’ He supports SDS’s policy of carrying in stock what you supply: “Reliable supply is vital for our customers and for me personally,” he says.

Stephen Cordner – Victorian Branch Manager
Stephen joined SDS in April and spent many years in the picture framing business before that, both in manufacturing and wholesale. He’s a pooch-lover, German Shepherds in particular and is an active member of the German Shepherd Dog Club. “I was attracted to SDS because it’s a family-based business and that makes close customer support that much easier. The next 12 months is all about expanding our profile, customer base and products.”

sds_amanda_brandon_vic.gifAmanda Brandon – Senior Sales Exec, Victoria
Also an April inductee, Amanda has over 10 years experience in the printing industry, 5 of them in wide-format digital. Speed and excitement obviously mean a lot to her – she’s booked to hop behind the wheel of a V8 Supercar at Calder Raceway in July! “Driving Supercars requires team effort and we have a great team here at SDS, I look forward to being part of the growth and success.”

sds_clayton_scheider_nsw.gifClayton Scheider – Sales Exec, NSW
Clayton hails from Brazil where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Feevale. He speaks three languages – and no prizes for guessing what his sport passion is. From the land of Pele it has to be soccer! Clayton spent a year in Quality Assurance with SDS’s paper and film converting operation and has just been promoted to a sales role.

sds_walter_palombini_nsw.gifWalter Palombini – Colour Management and Printer Technician, NSW
Walter is also from Brazil – what more colourful place for a colour specialist to come from? He says he is forever learning new methods for colour management. Another soccer fan, Walter lives next to the beach, enjoys the mountains and helping customers get the best possible colour results.

sds_mike_bottari_nsw.gifMike Bottari – Senior Sales Exec, NSW

With vast experience in both offset and large format digital printing – solvent and aqueous - Mike was until recently with Anitech and has previously worked with iconic printing names like Pot Still Press, John Sands and McPhersons. A Melbournian by birth, Mike was raised in the big Apple – New York – and has a Bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame University where he played the ‘other’ kind or football; Gridiron! A proud Dad and Grandad, his two sons are on active service with the Australian Army. Speaking of service, Mike aims to provide the very best to his SDS clientele.

Michael Goson – Senior Sales Exec, ACT (no picture for Michael)
Another widely experienced wide-format man, Michael was until recently with Spandex. His brief is to take care of the growing Canberra/ACT market.

sds_denis_gilbert_wa.gifDenis Gilbert - Senior Sales Exec, WA
Joining SDS in June, Denis previously owned and operated a signage business so he knows the issues facing the industry. A keen tennis player, he knows how to compete too. “I believe in being an asset to my customers, as well as my company,” he says.
