Aimed at wide format printers needing extra productivity in the 3400mm wide class, SwissQprint's new Karibu S is ideal for billboards, short-duration posters, large-scale mesh prints and more. The addition of neon inks can add punch to visual campaigns and in-register double-sided printing is automatically-controlled.

SwissQ KaribuS
The Karibu S has a sellable-quality speed of 330 m2/hr and extra yellow and pink neon colours

Ahead of the Virtual drupa, April, SwissQprint has announced a series of developments: the launch of the Karibu S; the addition of double-sided printing for the Karibu and Karibu S models and the addition of neon colors for UV printing for the company’s LED printers.

The Karibu S (‘S’ stands for 'speed'), is the faster version of  the Karibu model. The Karibu S is for PSPs who run multiple shifts to produce a high volume of banners, non-durable poster prints and extra-large billboards. It features none c olour channnels and maximum output at 330m2/hr. tye extra 200mm of width over other 3200mm class printers - making it 3400mm - is useful for when printing two 1600mm rols side-by-side.

The company is now offering automatic double-sided printing for its roll-to-roll printers, including the Karibu and Karibu S, with applications including blockout banners, ceiling hangers, stretch banners, posters and more. An integrated camera and QR codes ensure that graphics printed on the reverse side are positioned in-register.

Every swissQprint large format machine with LED technology can be equipped with one or more neon channels, as the company is now offering neon colors for UV printing. Applications include POS displays, signposts, backlit signs and more. Neon yellow and neon pink are available.

Adriano Gut, SwissQprint's key account manager, said at an online launch:

“Speed is of the essence in this day and age, but to compete in this ever-changing market you need to be flexible, offer great quality and have your costs under control, and that sums up the Karibu S. This dedicated UV roll-to-roll printer offers a maximum width of 3.4m and can take rolls of up to 200kg. Dedicated to speed, it uses 16 of a maximum 18 printheads for CMYK, resulting in a top speed of 330sqm/hr – and at a quality that is sellable. Our sophisticated ink allows you to print on all sorts of different substrates – paper, banner, mesh, self-adhesive vinyl, polypropylene or fabrics.”
