“I commend all the Board members for their dedication to our industry, it is a pleasure to have worked with such passionate people, dedicated to community service,” said Macaulay. “I have enjoyed getting to know so many members across Australia.”

The move was announced in a PVCA press release: “For the past few years, PVCA has been led through a modernization and optimization restructure by its Board and Macaulay. The work of that strategic restructure is now complete. The PVCA will be advertising the role widely, and is seeking an enthusiastic industry champion to lead the industry peak body and to implement the Board’s vision and strategy from the now optimized platform.

“With a stable financial position, an energised Board and a strong potential for growth, the person will lead PVCA into the next stage of service and member engagement. Macaulay has agreed to stay on to provide a handover, so the transition will be supported.

“Following the successful financial turnaround of PVCA at end 2019, COVID-19 posed a number of challenges for the organisation, as it did for many membership organisations, but the 140 year old organisation proved agile and turned those into opportunities, innovated and launched multiple online services, online awards programmes, online industry sustainability certification, and an extensive and well subscribed series of specialist webinars in IR, finance and Government Services. PVCA CEO Macaulay grasped the opportunity to strengthen and define strategic partnerships such as the trade show and events JV that will significantly enhance print industry profile, and enhance the Board strategy for growing industry voice. PVCA also saw members return, looking for the reliable standards of professional IR service, genuine cross industry advocacy, and an inclusive national voice to policy leaders.”

PVCA president Walter Kuhn said: “PVCA found the right person at the right time in Andrew Macaulay. The organisation needed re-structure and refocus, and Andrew has created an agile modern organisation. We thank him for doing the often challenging work associated with this. The PVCA Board feels excited and invigorated by theopportunities to grow our industry association and deliver outstanding value to our members. We are looking for a hands-on GM with the experience to grow our membership and lead our team.”

PVCA Treasurer John Georgnstzakos: “The association needed a unique skill set to restructure, lower costs and modernise. Macaulay has delivered on his commitment, and we wish him best in his future endeavours.”

Board member Tom Eckersley added: “The creation of Print2Parliament! and the profile that gives our industry is a legacy that Macaulay can be particularly proud of. To have then further enhanced that into a JV for all events and trade shows will benefit all of our industry for many years.”

“Macaulay is moving back into the commercial world, with an exciting international trading opportunity,” the PVCA said.
