The pestilence that is email phishers and ID thieves is sometimes worse than Covid! Wideformat Online received a response via our inquiry form that at first seemed legit from UTS university, Sydney. It even used the real name of the procurement officer. Closer inspection and a check with UTS' IT people revealed the con.

The email is reproduced below. DO NOT RESPOND OR CLICK THE LINK! It's a fraud and malware may be deposited on your computer. The publisher of Wideformat Online happened to know that the UTS email extension uses full stops, not hyphens - because his daughter went there! If you receive the email below, bin it or, if you really want to vent, tell the sender to go forth and multiply! We have redacted the name of the person named as the sender because he really does work at UTS.
