PacPrint 2017, incorporating Visual Impact Melbourne, has confirmed itself as the region’s leading B2B market place for print, sign and display, with business transacted on the exhibition floor looking certain to top AUD $20 million and initial feedback from both exhibitors and visitors overwhelmingly positive.

Avery Dennison Corporation has commissioned a high speed hot melt adhesive coating line at its manufacturing facility in Bangi, Malaysia. This latest investment is primarily designed to serve the company’s customers’ in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand regions.

Wide Format Online attempts to bring exhibitor presentations to all those industry people that were unable to make it to the exhibition. The videos could also be of value to those that did attend but want a rerun of the presentations possibly to confirm a purchasing decision.

Epson has launched its new 17-inch Epson® SureColor® P5070 which, by incorporating the latest imaging technologies, resets the standard for the desktop photography, fine art, graphic design, and proofing markets.

The new JFX200-2531 was on show at PacPrint 2017 and was eagerly demonstrated by Mimaki staff. The smaller JFX200-2513 flatbed printer has sold well in Australia according to Brad Creighton, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Mimaki Australia and he expects many of those customers may wish to upgrade to the newer, bigger model.

Day 3 of PacPrint was one on which the positive trends of the past two days continued, with another busy day of discussions and negotiations on the exhibition stands, and challenging in-depth presentations and information sessions at the Forum and Workshop theatres.

In what must be one of the biggest charity partnership announcements in the country, it was announced at PacPrint 2017 that HP will be printing Daffodil Day collateral for one of the country's most iconic charities, Cancer Council Australia, live on-site across the four days of the show and their partnership does not stop there.

On October 24-28, 2018, the 7th All in Print China will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. There will be 8 thematic pavilions in line with the popular topics, including pavilions for digital pre-press, comprehensive printing, post press converting, packaging equipment, ink & innovative materials, label industry, flexo printing technology and innovation factory. The area of AIP 2018 will reach 110,000m2, and it is expected to attract more than 1,000 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors to attend the event.

Canon has announced at PacPrint 2017 the shipment and sale of the 6,000“ printer in the industry-leading Océ Arizona Series of flatbed printers. The 6,000"‘ printer is an Océ Arizona 2280 XT, the latest model in a range of products that has seen eight major platform introductions over the last ten years, in several different form factors, and in more than 120 configurations.

KernowJet MetaliK Cut&Print and MetaliK Inkjet, the latest innovations from Kernow were launched at FESPA Hamburg. Shrinking lettering on a hot, south facing window and the risk of ugly exposed adhesive edges is now consigned to history, say Kernow.

In a press conference on the opening day of PacPrint, HP made several announcements, including:
a) The company had approached the Cancer Council and was now a major contributor to this very worthy cause and will continue to help the council where they can with both financial aid as well as covering all their printing requirements. b) 40,000 Latex printers had been sold since Latex's inception. c) A new HP Latex 315 Print & Cut had been launched. d) As previously published, HP had also launched their Latex 3200 and Latex 3600 printers. The 3200 was on display at PacPrint.

At PacPrint 2017, EFI and several of its key partners showed the latest EFI products for the first time in Australia. The show featured new wide-format and soft signage printers wich they say offers exceptional returns on investment.

Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions has announced a major expansion of its Supreme Wrapping Film portfolio, with 18 new colours. Additions include eight colours in a satin metallic finish, new single colours in gloss metallic, diamond and matt, and a new gloss finish option for the existing ColorFlow Series.

K.W.Doggett Fine Paper and BJ Ball has announced the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), has indicated they will not stand in the way of the merger. Planning is now in progress and a completion date set for 3 July 2017.

At the last Visual Impact Sydney 2016, Brad Creighton, Mimaki's National Sales and Marketing Manager, amazed visitors with some samples of Mimaki's 3D printing capabilities. He produced samples of multi coloured models that were produced in one pass by the new machine - see video of Brad showing off the samples.
