On drupa's opening, Canon, announced an expansion of its production inkjet portfolio and its entry into the B2 sheetfed inkjet market with the varioPRESS iV7, a new inkjet press capable of producing 8,700 B2 4/0 sheets per hour. Koenig & Bauer Durst is demonstrating important advances with its digital press systems and software services in folding carton and corrugated markets on its booth (A-31-1, Hall 16) at drupa in Duesseldorf, Germany. Breaking drupa news does not come much bigger that this. Heidelberg will start selling Canon-sourced inkjet sheetfed presses to thrust itself into the mainstream digital market in all formats from B3 to B2. The B2 format inkjet press is scheduled for commercial release in Q4 2025.
