InkTec's very first LED UV wide-format printer, which claims a 35 percent reduction in energy consumption compared to traditional mercury lamp printers, is already gaining market traction in the UK as the company's reputation for affordable quality draws intense interest.

While delivering at a speed of 39sq m/h in production mode, the Jetrix LX5 can truly be labelled as an environmentally-conscious machine. Thanks to LED UV technology, the LX5 offers a much lower energy consumption than traditional printers, no warm-up time, less heat created and an extended lamp lifetime of up to 20,000 hours—all of which play their part in an environmentally cleaner machine. This all benefits the owner, as the lower energy consumption means much lower running costs.

Ben Woodruff, Inktec’s head of national sales, says: “At InkTec, we have long recognised the need for affordable LED technology within wide-format printing and the launch of the Jetrix LX5 illustrates how the numbers now really stack up. The Jetrix LX5’s ability to direct energy more efficiently and therefore reduce the overall power consumption means that the total cost of ownership over its lifetime makes it a realistic and affordable option.”
Inktec has long been a supporter of products that have a low impact on the environment, and has recognised in the market a demand for environmentally-friendly and energy efficient printers. However, the benefits of the new technology also ensures the machine delivers a wide and vibrant colour gamut and fast ink curing abilities, extending print capability on heat sensitive substrates.
