My sp540v is banding quite bad only on the left side of the print bed but perfect on the right side on dark colours but printing perfect on the right side. I have done a head clean and the heads are firing perfect on the test print. Any ideas

Get a tech, sounds like an alignment problem. Media feeding unevenly perhaps. Definitely a job for qualified roland tech.

did you have any luck sorting this problem?

mine has been doing it recently and the tech who came out had no idea and after calling roland head office here is australia reckons noone has ever seen one do it before.

its only cyan that does it, send solid coloured boxes in magenta yellow cyan and black and only cyan will show banding.
just today it now started banding on the left side of any job, to stop it i have to nest another nothing job on the far left so the head travels the full width to stop banding on a job that may be only half the vinyl width.
the techs we have here are useless at best, and i refuse to pay for them to come out and guess what the problem could be.

If you still have the problem, try cleaning the encoder strip with a optics cleaning rag
it might fix it.
cheers
