Has anyone had any experience with the chinese made SinoColor Storm printers? I was looking at buying a used Mutoh, Mimaki or Roland for around 10k but can get one of these new 1.8m eco sol machines into Melbourne for less than that. They use 2 X Epson DX7 heads and I know they have come a long way in terms of quality but would love to hear some hands on experience.
Cheers, Brad.

I would be very cautious if I was you. If you need support - who is going to give it to you??

Hi Brad,
6mths ago i bought an Eco-Sol Epson DX5.5 head machine the same basic machine.
A-Starjet Neo,
The company i used are brilliant and have been there anytime for Tech support.
The ink supplied by them goes forever and is a fraction of the price of Roland.

The machine design is totally uncomplicated and you can do most maintainence yourself including calibration in 5 mins.
The single DX5.5 head is great on my 1.52m and DX7 x 2 would have to be faster.
As for print quality it is pretty damn perfect, so much so that i only need to use
600 dpi most of the time.

I can print on almost anything at a fraction of the cost of my old DGI or Roland.
I will be buying another unit soon and it will be the same as the unit you are looking at
except it will be branded MeiTu Tech.
Any questions email me,
( contacts name Windy Chen Sales Manager) windy@mtutech.com
DX7 link below.
regards

Hi,
I am reading your post and I am also looking for an Chinese eco solvent printer -
Did you buy this Mei Tu printer ? Are you satisfied ?
Also, is the eco solvent ink toxic ? Any special ventilation need ? Can use for indoor printing ?

Regards.

I ended up buying a used mutoh value jet which was a couple of grand cheaper and its been a fantastic printer. I got some high quality print samples sent to me from the color storm and they just werent good enough. Ok for banner printing though .
