Océ UVgel technology featured in the Océ Colorado 1640 has been judged safe for indoor use by multiple independent certification schemes.

Océ is proud to announce that the excellent safety performance of the new Océ UVgel technology has now been proven by seven environmental tests. The Océ UVgel technology is featured in the recently launched Océ Colorado 1640, currently being rolled out to the market across Australia and New Zealand. The Océ Colorado 1640, a high-end, high-productivity printer, is designed to excel at a wide range of applications in many different environments.Colorado 1640

Broad range of certifications to ensure high safety standards
The Océ Colorado 1640, UVgel and its applications now meet the criteria for seven major indoor certifications that test for harmful compounds, emissions and odours in large-format products such as wall coverings. Together, these certifications make up some of the most stringent criteria and safety considerations for chemical emissions.

“This places the Océ UVgel technology and the Océ Colorado 1640 in an elite group of companies whose products can safely be used in sensitive environments such as hospitals and schools. The prints are also judged odourless, which is essential for environments such as restaurants and supermarkets. Colorado customers can supply prints with absolute confidence into such environments. It’s another tick in the box for compliance in critical applications” said Garry Muratore, Océ’s Product Manager for Graphic Arts Markets

Certifications obtained:
- AgBB: Océ Colorado 1640 UVgel ink fulfils all requirements of the AgBB scheme evaluating volatile organic compounds in building materials for indoor use.
- GREENGUARD Gold: UVgel ink is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions into indoor air during product usage.
- EN15102:2007 Decorative wall coverings: Océ Colorado decorative wall coverings have successfully passed all tests for this mandatory CE marking: mechanical strength, safety in case of fire and sustainability. CE marking according to this new regulation on wall coverings is mandatory in Europe since 2013.
- Odor: Océ Colorado 1640 printouts using Océ UVgel technology have been judged odourless according to DIN EN ISO 16000-28 i.A., VDI 4302 by a 3rd party testing agency.
- VCL-free: Océ UVgel ink is free of VCL (vinylcaprolactam).

Tests passed:
- A+ Émissions dans l’air intérieur: Océ Colorado 1640 is measured to comply with A+, the top label for this mandatory classification for wall coverings sold on the French market. Local wall-covering producers must apply for the certification individually.
- M1 – Emission Classification of Building Materials: Océ Colorado 1640 is measured to comply with M1, the top label of this Finnish certification scheme, which includes a 28-day emission and odour test. Local wall-covering producers must apply for the certification individually.
