HP has announced the first Australian installation of its new HP PageWide XL 8000 Printer at Tender Edge in the ACT, allowing the print service provider to expand its offerings beyond its primary customer base.

Traditionally providing document management and printing services for the construction industry, Tender Edge now has the opportunity to produce CAD drawings, GIS maps, point-of-sale applications and posters.
“Tender Edge has been at the forefront of providing innovative printing services to the construction industry and are constantly looking for the best solutions in terms of quality, timing and costs, “ said Gary Jackson, Business Manager, Tender Edge.
“Changing customer demands have driven us to expand our offerings to include other point-of-sale applications in addition to serving our main customer base. The ability to print drawings economically in both colour and black-and-white was also a huge drawcard for us.”

Since the PageWide XL 8000 was installed in February this year, the reliability and speed of the new machine has allowed the business to streamline its operations significantly and consolidate workload that was previously dispersed between several devices.
“While enabling us to produce a greater variety of work, the PageWide XL 8000 also combines a lot of what we were doing previously and keeps it in one place,” said Jackson. “As a result, we’ve seen our productivity increase by up to 33 per cent following the installation.”
Revolutionising the technical production printing market that has traditionally been led by monochrome-only LED printers, the HP PageWide XL Printers offer the fastest large-format production printing available in colour and black-and-white. The printers enable reprographic houses, print service providers (PSPs), enterprise central reprographic departments (CRDs) and print corners to produce computer-aided design (CAD) drawings and open new business opportunities with geographic information system (GIS) maps, point-of-sale applications and posters.
“Our large-format printing customers are continuously looking for ways to deliver quality prints at the speed and costs that match their business needs, as well as new business opportunities,” said Melanie Valdes, Production Segment Manager, Graphic Solutions Business, HP South Pacific. “With the HP PageWide XL Printers, we are setting the new standard with the fastest speed, superior output quality and the reliability of proven industry-leading HP PageWide technology.”
“It’s exciting to not only install the first HP PageWide XL 8000 unit in Australia, but also play a part in the growth of a company like Tender Edge, enabling it to explore new markets and offer a wider range of options to customers. We’re very much looking forward to supporting the company in that journey moving forward.”
