Digital & Textile is the brand coined for the most innovative event this Autumn dedicated to the innovation in the fashion industry, held not by chance just outside Florence, which houses some of the world's most prestigious fashion brands.

As well as hundreds of the largest European textile printing plants. From October 6th to 8th the district of Prato, Florence, was a great place to be to hear about inspiring innovations in the textile field presented by d.gen in collaboration with its Italian partner Grafix Wide Solution.

Industrial heritage and new digital technology
The Digital & Textile show, held in a redeveloped old factory - a masterpiece of industrial archaeology - aroused huge interest not only from local textile companies and brand owners, but also a selected group of d.gen resellers and customers from different countries, who were there to support and learn more about d.gen’s future steps. A great opportunity, with inevitable touch of Italian charm, to show well-known products like Papyrus G5 and Arachne Hexa, that count many installations worldwide. And also to prove, once again, the ability of d.gen to play a crucial role among top textile brands, showing the innovative “Subli-cotton” production method, which allows sublimation printing on natural fibres.

“Italy is recognised as home of fashion and textile. Consequently we can say that Italian market is one of the hardest to please with very high standards and demand in terms of printing quality - says Andrea Negretti, COO at d.gen - with several installations achieved in Italy this year, and some really interesting prospects met during the event, we're confident about our pigment solution and we're ready for a even stronger impact in the coming days. With many similar events and the next exhibitions, d.gen stays concentrated on constant innovation, always listening to customers from the smallest to the most industrialized.”

A new process to print natural fibers
Subli-cotton is a synthetic fabric designed to be used with transfer paper printers and sublimation technology, not only for polyester fabrics but also for natural and blended fabrics, giving customers new business opportunities with sportswear, outwear, fashion garments, bags, umbrellas and many others. The new product was originally introduced at drupa 2016 and since then d.gen has worked intensively to raise the quality to its best. Compared with classic sublimation on polyester, with just one additional step Subli-cotton produces brilliant and vivid colors, excellent light fastness and great washing fastness on jeans, linen, cotton and other fibers.
