The importance of key print business staff having a good understanding of planning and estimating and workplace first aid skills is the focus of two Printing Industries' courses being run in Sydney and Melbourne during November.

Sydney hosts the reintroduction of a one-day Print Estimating and Planning course and Melbourne will host an Apply First Aid course.

The Print Estimating and Planning course is an introductory course.

Run over one day, Wednesday 19 November, the course will teach participants the correct methods to prepare and present an accurate quote; develop an understanding of the principles behind ‘hourly rates’; have an awareness of the differences between various print materials; understand the concepts of planning and imposing; be able to comprehend and explain Estimating Standards and be able to proficiently work through actual working estimates.

The course is perfect for company owners, managers, supervisors and sales teams and industry professionals including print buyers, print production co-ordinators and graphic designers looking for a solid understanding of planning and estimating principles and processes.

It will run from 9am-5pm at Printing Industries’ Auburn office. Cost is $528 pp (GST Incl) for Printing Industries members and $605 for non-members. Tutor is Gary Biarinec who can be contacted for more information on 0403 315 354.

Registration and more information is available here.
Melbourne’s Apply First Aid course, also on 19 November, conforms to the requirement of Victorian Occupation Health and safety authority first aid in the workplace code of practice 1995. The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the ANTA National Training Register.
Originally a two-day course, it has been compacted into a one-day course from 10am-3pm. A small additional homework booklet must to be completed by each participant prior to the course.

The prior study component means participants still satisfy the same legislative requirements as the two-day course and obtain the same statement of attainment – the Statement of Attainment Course in Apply First Aid.

Cost is $130 per person (GST Incl).
